Humbert Allen Astredo's voiceover: "It is a day of hidden terrors for those who live at the great house at Collinwood. The long lost secrets of the past are sought by a clever and dangerous enemy of the Collins family. He has caused Quentin Collins to revert to his true age of more than a hundred years, and has placed the woman he loves, a woman lost in time, under his power in order to discover her secrets. Unless he is stopped somehow, he may discover the key to destroy all those who stand in his way...."
After a replay of Thursday's close and the titles, Daphne begins to walk and leave her room as Nicholas follows. "Yes....show me the laboratory, Daphne. Walk to the laboratory..." he says. They begin to move through the hallway when Nicholas suddenly gets startled and steps behind a door. As Daphne continues to walk in a trance, Harrison comes down the hall and sees her. "Daphne!" he says. "You fainted a moment ago. Are you all right?" She looks at him dreamily and answers "Yes....I am fine. I must go now...." and slowly walks away. He looks confused for a moment and then starts to follow her. "Are you sure you're all right? You seem to be acting strangely," he says. She stops a moment and repeats "Strangely? No....I am fine. I am fine now. I must go." Harrison says "Where must you go?" Daphne answers "To find Quentin. I must find my Quentin....my Quentin...." She walks away, leaving Harrison wondering. Meanwhile, the there is a banging on the doors of the old house, and without waiting for an answer, old Quentin pushes open the doors and staggers into the living room. He wails for Barnabas a couple of times, and then calls for Angelique before collapsing into a chair, breathing heavily. Angelique comes down the stairs asking who it is, and then gasps when she sees the nearly rotting old man sitting before her. "Angelique......" he says weakly. "Help.....me......" Angelique studies him a moment, and then realizes, saying "Quentin! Oh my God!" Old Quentin continues to gasp for air.
Angelique rushes to old Quentin's side and asks him what happened. All he can gasp is "Nicholas....Blair.....portrait......help...." Angelique tells him not to talk, and that "I understand. Nicholas did something to your portrait. But why? You are no threat to him." Quentin answers "Daphne....time...he wants to know how..." Angelique remembers Nicholas' plans and the information he wanted. She says "Nicholas wants to know the secret of your ancestor's staircase. I don't know what for, but he must never learn the secret of that room! I have a small amount of my power back now, Quentin. But I don't know if I can help you...I don't know if I have the power to change your portrait back!" Old Quentin looks at her sadly and begs "You...must try...somehow." Angelique says she will do whatever she can. "I suppose anyone who Nicholas suspects of having power over time could be in danger...that would mean Harrison or even Victoria Winters." Old Quentin adds "And Barnabas..." Angelique smiles and says she can protect Barnabas and then adds "And I will do everything I can to save you. I must discover where Nicholas has hidden that portrait. I have to touch it to change it back." Old Quentin smiles a little and says "Thank you....thank you....." Angelique tells Quentin "I will need a mirror from upstairs, and I will need you to touch the mirror as I speak. Can you do that?" Old Quentin nods. "And we must not tell Barnabas about the powers I shall use. He is afraid they will consume me." Quentin manages to say "I think he'd understand." Angelique says "Perhaps. But I'd rather not take any chances." Old Quentin manages a knowing look now that he's caught his breath. "You don't....have to worry about Vicky......." Angelique says "What do you mean?" Old Quentin answers "You can't....play coy with me. You were worried.....about Vicky and Barnabas.....from their past. Vicky.....is Elizabeth's daughter." Quentin sighs, and Angelique can't believe her ears. "Elizabeth's daughter? Vicky? How?" Quentin answers "A story too long....for me to tell you now. But it is....true." Angelique beams, and says "Quentin, you have made me so happy with that news, you don't know how happy! I'll get the mirror, quickly!" She runs out of the room as old Quentin smiles, continuing to catch his breath.
Harrison comes down the stairs, and runs into Mrs. Johnson. He asks her if she's seen Daphne, and Mrs. Johnson says she hasn't, but "you never know where anyone is around this house half the time, Mr. Harrison!" Harrison thanks her, and then walks into the drawing room and pours himself a brandy. "Where could she be...she couldn't find Quentin a moment ago, yet now she looks for him...." He takes a drink and begins to pace. "My Quentin.... what did she mean by 'My Quentin?' I've never heard her call him that before...." Suddenly, Harrison has a revelation. "Unless....she's remembering her past....THAT Quentin! That's where she's going!" He puts down his drink in a hurry and leaves the room. Meanwhile, in 1840s Quentin's lab, Nicholas is following Daphne down the stairs and looking around. "Is this the laboratory?" he asks her. She nods. "Show me how Quentin moved through time," Nicholas adds. Daphne looks confused for a moment, then says "He didn't. He only knew how it could be done." Nicholas, frustrated, says "Then show me how it could be done." Daphne starts to look through the dusty old desk opposite the stairs as Nicholas watches. Suddenly, we hear the creaky sound of a door opening as Nicholas is startled. We hear Harrison calling "Daphne! Daphne! Are you down there?" Daphne looks up.
Nicholas steps aside and hides behind an old bookcase as Harrison comes downstairs. "Daphne! What are you doing down here?" Harrison says as he takes Daphne's hand. "I need to find it," she says as Nicholas listens. Harrison looks into her eyes and says "You're in some kind of trance...it's as if you're sleepwalking." He begins to snap his fingers in front of her and tells her to wake up, but she ignores him. He tries patting her face gently, but she does not come out of it. Instead, she notices his jeweled ring and begins to stare at it. As he drops his hand, she grabs his hand and lifts it back up, staring at the ring. "This crystal...." she says. "this crystal is the way...." Harrison gets a little nervous and tries to take his hand away, saying "Please Daphne, we need to go upstairs." But Daphne grabs his ring with both hands, turns towards the area where the staircase used to be and says "Show me my Quentin...." Harrison's eyes open wide and he yells "No! Daphne! Stop!" Nicholas grows more curious and watches as the air around the broken planks begins to swirl. "Show me my Quentin...." Daphne repeats as Harrison struggles to pull his hands away, yelling "Daphne, no! You've got to stop thinking of the past! You must stop!" The swirling air starts to open into a void, with a vortex running along the outside. Nicholas watches from behind the bookcase as Harrison struggles with Daphne as we see inside the vortex the image of the drawing room at Collinwood with Victorian furniture. Nicholas can't believe his eyes as 1840s Quentin comes into view, sitting and reading a newspaper....

After a replay of Wednesday's close, Nicholas shouts at Quentin "Look at yourself! Look into that mirror!" Into a dusty old mirror comes a reflection of a dusty old Quentin - practically the image of the aged decaying body that was originally in the portrait. Quentin moans in a hoarse voice "Blair! I'll.....kill you for this.....what have you done to me?" Quentin can't bear to look in the mirror as Nicholas says "I've only robbed you of your peculiar immortality, my boy. You are now your true self, over one hundred years of age..." Quentin moans "Nooooooo!" Nicholas sneers "Perhaps you need to find out how powerful an enemy I can be before you try to kill me, you pathetic old man! Now you think about what I said and about the information I demand! You will find out the secrets of time that Daphne has buried within her or I will let you slowly rot away to dust! I will see you again at my leisure!" As old Quentin watches helplessly, Nicholas puts his hand on the portrait, and both dissolve from the attic. Quentin grabs out at them in desperation, but they are gone. He tries to catch his breath while he thinks about his situation.
Old Quentin manages to pick himself up and get down the attic stairs. We hear him thinking "I must reach Barnabas....or even Angelique.....only they can help me now....." Meanwhile, Daphne is stirring in her sleep again, and wakes up with a start saying "Quentin!" She gets her bearings and thinks "Another nightmare....each time they're getting worse...." She hurriedly gets out of bed and leaves her room. Daphne goes down the hall to Quentin's room. She looks around for him, but he is not there. As she is coming out, she bumps into Harrison walking in the hall. "Have you seen Quentin?" she asks. Harrison says no, and asks her if she's all right. "I just had another horrible dream about him," she answers. "I must see if he's all right." Harrison says he's sure Quentin is "just fine." Daphne says "You don't understand! I keep having dreams where Quentin is going to die!" Harrison tries to calm her, saying "Quentin is a young man, he's going to live a very very long time." Meanwhile, old Quentin is staggering through the west wing approaching the door to the main hallway. (Despite his age, sorry) He overhears Harrison and Daphne talking and gets scared. "Daphne....I mustn't let her see me....like this..." he thinks. Harrison says "We can look through the west wing for him if he's not in his room." Old Quentin hears this and manages to get behind a door as Harrison and Daphne approach. Daphne says "There's no one back here." Harrison says "Perhaps we should go downstairs and have a cup of tea. I'm sure he can't be far, and there's nothing to worry about." Daphne thanks Harrison, and he says he'll go tell Mrs. Johnson to prepare something. After he leaves, Daphne begins to follow, but then hears a creak. She turns and sees the door old Quentin hid behind moving slightly. She opens the door, and suddenly comes face to face with the decrepit white haired old hulk that was once her love. He gasps, and she screams and faints.
Harrison rushes back and finds Daphne fainted. He looks behind the door, but there is no one there. Harrison tells Daphne he will take her back to her room. As he does, we see a door at the far end of the hallway slightly open. Downstairs in the drawing room, old Quentin pops open the secret panel and begins to stagger through the room once he sees no one is there. "I must reach Barnabas and Angelique...." he thinks as he manages to get to the foyer. As he finally reaches the front door, Mrs. Johnson comes out from the kitchen thinking she hears Harrison. "Did you want the tea to be hot or iced?" she says, but then gets a look at the decaying aged Quentin, who looks back at her momentarily. Mrs. Johnson screams and steps back as old Quentin gets out the front door. Harrison comes out of the hallway and down the stairs, asking Mrs. Johnson "What is it?" Mrs. Johnson can hardly speak. "A man.....an old man.......he was so old.....like death! Like death itself!" she stammers. Harrison helps her back into the kitchen. Upstairs, Daphne is still passed out on her bed. As we pull back, we see Nicholas standing over her and smiling to himself.
Nicholas stands over Daphne and begins to cast a spell. "Spirits of darkness," he begins. "I call upon you to place this young woman in my hands. She holds a secret that I must know so that I can share it with all of the demons that I call my masters....she holds the secret of time within her mind....a secret that must be revealed to us......you will arise, Daphne....you will rise and show me these secrets..." Daphne opens her eyes, and slowly sits up. She is in a trance. "Yes...." Nicholas continues. "You are guided by the spirits of the damned.....you will show me what you know about Quentin Collins' secrets of time...." Daphne says "Quentin Collins.....my husband Quentin...." Nicholas smiles. "Yes....your husband Quentin. You will show me his secrets of moving through time..." Daphne seems to think a moment and then looks at Nicholas and says "I will show you Quentin's secrets. I will show you the laboratory...." Nicholas smiles and nods.

After a repeat of Tuesday's close, Quentin demands that Nicholas leave the house. Nicholas apologizes for having upset Daphne, and leaves with a sneer. Harrison remarks "What did you mean that the less I know about Nicholas Blair, the better?" Quentin answers "Let's discuss it after I help Daphne up to her room. She didn't sleep well last night." Harrison helps Quentin lead Daphne upstairs as we cut to Sebastian's house. Carolyn is drinking tea and looking less hung over. Vicky asks her if she's feeling better, and Carolyn says she is. "Better enough to come back home?" asks Vicky and Carolyn says she's not sure, but then voices concern. "I hope mother isn't worried about me being out all night...." Vicky answers that she phoned while Carolyn was asleep that "you were with me." Carolyn laughs a little, and says "So, I guess this is what it's like to have an older sister to look after me." Vicky remarks how strange it is to think of herself as truly part of the Collins family. "You won't be alone in finding it strange. I'm sure when David comes back from school, he'll be surprised." Vicky suddenly looks a little sad. "And Barnabas... I wonder how Barnabas will react." As Vicky gets more worried, Carolyn replies "It looks like I'm not the only one of us afraid to go back home right now." Vicky thinks about that for a moment.
Quentin has put Daphne to sleep and is quietly leaving the room. He bumps into Harrison in the hallway. Harrison asks Quentin why Nicholas would want to hurt Daphne. Quentin answers that "I don't think he wanted to, I think he was trying to find out about her for his own purposes. I don't know what he wanted to know, but if it's Blair, it's for no good, trust me." Harrison asks if Nicholas has been "trouble" before, and Quentin answers "You should ask Barnabas sometime. As enemies, they go way back." Harrison thinks about this. Downstairs, Vicky and Carolyn return. They both tell each other that they have to be brave. Carolyn walks into the drawing room where Liz is sitting. They look at each other for a moment. Carolyn begins to tear up a bit, and Liz begins to smile. Liz says "Carolyn, I don't know what I can ever do to make it up to you, but I know I can try." Carolyn sniffs and says "I guess I can try too. If...if Vicky can understand your reasons, I don't see where I have the right to....." Liz hugs Carolyn and tells her "It's okay to be angry with me, but please don't mistrust me. I'll always tell you the truth. I don't want there to ever be secrets between us again." Carolyn hugs her mother as Vicky watches.
Upstairs, Quentin is heading to his room when he hears some noises above him. At first, he ignores them, but then he hears more footstep sounds and gets concerned. He quickly heads out of his room and down the hall of the west wing and opens a door revealing the staircase to the attic. Quentin heads up the stairs. In the attic, there is some assorted junk, as well as the covered portrait of Quentin resting on an easel. Quentin enters, removing the key from the door he just unlocked. He looks around the room and hears nothing, but then as he turns, Nicholas is standing before him. "Hello, Mr. Collins," Nicholas says with a smile. Quentin is furious. "What do you think you're doing here, Blair? How did you get in?" Nicholas chuckles and begins to walk around. "You should know me better than that, Mr. Collins. A locked door is but a cloud of mist to a man like me." Quentin replies "That still doesn't explain what you think you're doing here." Nicholas snaps "Perhaps I'm an art lover" and pulls the cover off Quentin's portrait, revealing the image of an aged and decaying Quentin. "Hardly a true likeness of you, or is it?" Nicholas sneers. Quentin demands that Nicholas cover the portrait and leave, but Nicholas answers "Not until we do business, Mr. Collins. Not until then." Nicholas smiles as Quentin frowns.
Quentin walks around Nicholas with a smirk. "So, it seems you want something from me, Blair. What could that be? And what are you willing to pay?" Nicholas laughs. "What am I willing to pay? Quentin, you are a man after my own heart." Quentin answers "I didn't know you had one of those." Nicholas replies "Let's put our cards on the table, shall we? Daphne Hopkins was brought here from a time over a century ago and I want to know how." Quentin starts laughing, and Nicholas demands to know why. "None of us know how that was accomplished. And to be honest, I've stopped caring....now that she's here." Nicholas answers "I don't believe you. You must be curious. Especially after the return of Victoria Winters. It proves that someone has the power to move people from one time to another." Quentin looks Nicholas over and answers "Obviously a power you don't have....and obviously one you want pretty badly. Why?" Nicholas answers "I have my reasons." Quentin snaps "And I have my reasons to throw you out of here, either down the stairs or out a window." Nicholas answers "The Quentin Collins who lived here in the 1840s knew the secret I seek, and I believe others at this house may know it. I can be a very powerful ally if I get what I want, Quentin." Quentin answers "I'm quite aware of the kind of friend you can be, Blair." Nicholas snarls "I can be just as powerful an enemy as well. Look at your portrait." Quentin gets a little worried as Nicholas adds "Go on" with a smile. Quentin looks at his portrait, which, before his eyes, starts to blur. Through Quentin's viewpoint, we see it begin to come into focus again, and it looks like a portrait of the young Quentin. We hear Quentin gasping while Nicholas laughs, and then we see Quentin's two bony aged hands, shaking, come into view....

Quentin gets a little worried as Nicholas adds "Go on" with a smile. Quentin looks at his portrait, which, before his eyes, starts to blur. Through Quentin's viewpoint, we see it begin to come into focus again, and it looks like a portrait of the young Quentin. We hear Quentin gasping while Nicholas laughs, and then we see Quentin's two bony aged hands, shaking, come into view....

Kate Jackson's voiceover: "It is a dark and mysterious night at Collinwood, a night of both discovery and mystery. For Victoria Winters, the discovery of her identity as the long lost daughter of the mistress of the great house has been a revelation. But for another resident of Collinwood, tonight will be a night of mystery, as the discovery of her true identity has only brought her to the brink of terror...."
Daphne is asleep, and begins to dream. In her dream, she is wandering through Collinwood, calling for Quentin. She finds him in the drawing room, but it is 1840s Quentin, from his clothes. She asks him why he is looking at her so strangely, but he says nothing as he leads her to the grandfather clock in the foyer. He points to it and says nothing as it begins to strike midnight. Daphne pleads with Quentin to speak to her, and as the clock strikes midnight, Daphne sees that her clothes have changed to an 1840s style dress. She looks herself over, and then notices Quentin's hand....which is old and bony. She looks up at Quentin, and he is now a skeleton with white hair. As Daphne screams, skeleton Quentin begins to fall towards her as she continues screaming, waking herself up. She gets her bearings, but then begins to cry.
After the titles, Quentin enters Daphne's room and tells her that he heard her scream and asks why. She says she had a horrible nightmare, but can't remember all of it. "I only have this terrible feeling that I'm going to lose you...and lose myself!" she says. He asks her if she's still upset by hearing about Vicky "fading into the past" and Daphne says she's not sure. Quentin reminds her how Vicky has returned to Collinwood and to the present, so that Daphne shouldn't worry. But Daphne isn't convinced and answers "Vicky returned here to her own time. Quentin, this isn't my own time, we both know that! What if I return back there?" Quentin has no answer, as we cut to Vicky entering the Blue Whale. She sees Sebastian and Carolyn at the bar, and walks over to talk to Carolyn. Carolyn turns away from Vicky, and Sebastian says that Carolyn "doesn't seem to be able to talk to anyone." Annoyed, Carolyn turns around and says she can speak for herself. "Have you come here to apologize for my mother?" she says, before laughing a bit and adding "our mother, I should say." Vicky answers "Carolyn, you really should come home with me." Carolyn begins to tear up and says "With you....I never knew, all that time, all that time we became friends, that you were really my sister....do you know how often I used to wish for a sister when I was growing up? I knew I couldn't have one because I didn't even have a father. You were such a good friend to me. Vicky, to all of us. I used to wish you could be my sister...." Carolyn starts to cry and return to her drink, but Vicky grabs her and hugs her. "I am your sister, Carolyn. I always felt the same way about you. Please, don't be mad at me too." Carolyn tells Vicky she's not mad at her, and "I don't know what to think anymore." Vicky tells her she needs to come home and talk to Liz, but Carolyn answers "I don't know if I can. I just don't know."
The next day, Daphne is in the foyer looking at the grandfather clock as Harrison comes down the stairs. He remarks on what a "fascinating piece" the clock is, and Daphne seems to snap out of a daze when noticing him. "These old clocks can last a long time," he continues. "They can go on running for hundreds of years." Daphne apologizes, and says she didn't sleep very well. Harrison says he's sorry to hear that, and offers to get her some coffee since he was heading for the kitchen. She says that will be nice, and as he leaves, there is a knock at the door. Daphne answers, and it's Nicholas. She says hello, and Nicholas introduces himself as a friend of Roger's. "You must be Daphne, the governess," Nicholas says. "Yes, how did you know?" Daphne remarks, and Nicholas smoothly answers "I was told the new governess at Collinwood was a young and very beautiful woman, and since you fit that description madam, I'm sure it must be you." Daphne is charmed by him, and tells him that Roger is not in. Nicholas feigns surprise, and then adds that "perhaps I could talk to you about the Collins business then." Daphne says she doesn't know much about it, and Nicholas says "Well, I'm sure we could still find something interesting to talk about." Harrison returns with a tray with a coffeepot and some cups. Nicholas sees him and greets him with "Ah, Mr. Harrison Collins, I believe. We met at the old house some time ago." Harrison answers "Yes...Mr..Blair, wasn't it?" Nicholas answers "At your service." Harrison replies "I suppose I could be at yours if you'd like to have coffee with us." The three go into the drawing room. As Harrison pours coffee for everyone, Nicholas continues "I understand you are the last member of the New York branch of the Collins family." Harrison says he is, but that he certainly doesn't "hope to be the last ever." Nicholas looks at some of the portraits in the room and continues "That line of the family was started by a Quentin Collins back in the 1840s, I believe, if I remember what Roger told me one night. That Quentin was some sort of scientist, wasn't he?" Daphne begins to get nervous as Nicholas brings this up, but Harrison only answers "Yes, though I haven't read that much about him." Nicholas goes on "From what Roger told me, he was fascinated with the prospect of traveling through time. That always struck me as something more akin to magic than to science, if it were possible, of course." Harrison, getting more guarded, answers "Of course." Daphne starts to mutter "Quentin....Quentin....time...." Harrison asks her what is wrong, and Daphne says "The time! The time is running out!" Harrison asks her what she means, and Quentin walks in the room at that moment. She looks at him and screams "Quentin!" and faints. Quentin rushes to her, saying "Daphne!"
Quentin tries to revive Daphne, while Nicholas says "We were just talking, and then she fainted." Quentin glares at Nicholas and says "Blair, somehow I think something more than that happened here." Nicholas answers "I see no reason to take that tone with me, it's just a coincidence that..." but Quentin cuts him off "I'm very familiar with the kind of coincidences you tend to be connected to." Nicholas' eyebrow raises. Meanwhile, at Sebastian's, Vicky is waking up on the couch as Sebastian makes some tea. Vicky thanks him for letting her sleep there, and he thanks her for helping him get Carolyn "someplace safe to sleep." Vicky remarks how she doesn't know how to convince Carolyn to go home and talk to Liz, and Sebastian answers that "Carolyn can be a very stubborn girl, but I think she'll get over her anger." Vicky says she's not sure about that, wondering if Carolyn can "ever get over thinking she's been lied to all her life." Sebastian drinks some tea and says "Well, you forgave her, didn't you? Didn't she keep the truth from you all your life as well?" Vicky thinks a moment and says "Yes, perhaps. But she felt she had to." As Vicky continues, a groggy Carolyn starts to come out of a room and listen. Vicky goes on "She was scared. She was scared of what people would think of her, she was scared of finding out the truth herself, I think she was even still scared of her father in a way. I really can't blame her. I kept putting myself in her place when she had to give me up, how that must have hurt her so. All those years, not knowing what happened, and then finding me but still not being able to face the truth. She must have felt tortured inside." Carolyn steps out and angrily says "Vicky, how can you say that? Can't you see what she did? How can you be so forgiving?" Vicky looks at Carolyn and says "She did what she thought she had to. I can't judge her, especially when she tried to make it right." Carolyn snarls "I don't know how she can make it right with me," and then complains of a splitting headache. Vicky answers "You've got to let her try to make it right. Don't let her lose her daughter again!" Carolyn thinks about this.
Daphne begins to come around, and Harrison tells Quentin that "all we were discussing was my ancestor and then she fainted." Daphne hugs Quentin saying "Quentin....Quentin...." Quentin looks at Nicholas and sneers "Discussing the original Quentin Collins, Blair? Certainly a coincidence, of course." Nicholas puts down his coffee cup and answers "It's very clear that I am not welcome in this house right now." Quentin snaps "Why confine yourself to the moment, Nicholas?" Harrison tells Quentin "I don't see how he could have caused anything to happen to Daphne," but Quentin answers "You don't know Blair the way I do, Harrison. And the less you know the better." Quentin turns to Blair, still holding Daphne in his arms, and says "If any harm comes to Daphne, I will blame you. And if I blame you, your life won't be worth anything." Nicholas sneers right back with "Be very careful who you threaten, Mr. Collins. I don't take such threats lightly." Harrison wonders about all this.

In a repeat of Friday's close, Carolyn shouts "How could you keep this from me all those years? All that time when Vicky was searching for her identity.... all to protect the family name! How could you?" Liz takes Carolyn by the shoulders and asks her to "please understand" and that "We all grew to love Vicky and think of her as part of the family anyway, despite my secret. You may have already thought of her like a sister." Carolyn angrily pulls away and yells "You had no right to manipulate us like that! I don't know what the truth is anymore!" She starts to run out of the room, but after she gets the doors open, Alan tries to stop her. "Please, Carolyn.... give your mother a chance..." Carolyn answers "I gave her plenty....every day I've been living here. And every day she kept this from me!" Carolyn angrily runs past Alan into the foyer just as Vicky is coming down the stairs. Vicky asks Carolyn what's wrong, and Carolyn looks at her for a moment, then back at the group in the drawing room before hysterically crying and running out the front door. Liz shouts for Carolyn to come back. Vicky gets down the stairs and asks what is going on. Liz, Roger, and Alan look at each other and wonder how to tell her.
After the titles, Liz asks Vicky to sit down. Vicky asks why Carolyn was so upset, and Liz tells Vicky that "Carolyn is upset with me, I want you to know that first. It has nothing to do with you." Vicky asks what she means, and Alan says "I have to confess that I took a sample of your blood fort a different reason than what I told you. We all had to be sure." Vicky gets a little panicky and says "Be sure of what? What aren't you telling me?" Liz starts to tear up a little and takes Vicky's hands. "We have discovered who your parents are." Vicky takes a moment as this sinks in, and she starts to get excited a little, then curious. "You have? How did you discover this? Why were you even looking?" Liz and Alan look at each other, Vicky looks at Roger, and then Vicky begins to put together the answer to her last question. She starts to tremble a bit, and can't bring herself to ask straight out, and only repeats "Why were you looking....the both of you....." Liz looks at her and smiles. "Yes, the both of us. That's the answer to what you are thinking, Vicky." Liz starts to caress Vicky's hair as she continues "Vicky....my Vicky...." Vicky is in disbelief and asks "How do you know? How long have you known?" Liz answers "I didn't know for sure until Alan returned. I had always wondered, and there was a part of me that didn't want to know the truth, especially after I brought you here the first time. I grew to love you so much that I was afraid you might not turn out to be the child I lost so long ago. I hope you can forgive me." Roger looks at Vicky and says "I never understood my sister's motives in bringing you here, though I must admit I had suspected some things. I have to tell you I'm happy it turned out like this." Vicky laughs and cries at the same time, and then gives Liz a big hug. Liz then looks at her and says "I must tell you the whole story. It's imperative that you know, since I don't intend upon losing you again." Vicky gets ready to hear it.
In the drawing room, Vicky has heard the story of Jamison taking the young Liz' baby to the foundling home and setting up the support fund. Alan tells her "I know I must seem a stranger to you as opposed to your mother. I intend to make up for that." Vicky thanks him, and then wonders "I remember searching for my identity and finding something about someone named Betty Hanscombe, someone who was a servant here..." Alan says he remembers her, but "she wasn't at Collinwood for very long." Liz says "My father needed an explanation for the baby he brought to the foundling home, something to tell the Garmans in any case. He paid Betty to tell the Garmans that you were her baby so that the fund could be set up. I didn't discover this until years later, once the Garmans were working for me and not my father. I instructed them to protect both mine and Betty Hanscombe's privacy in this matter. But none of that is important now, now that you know the truth." Vicky asks who else knows "other than Carolyn." Liz says "I feel terrible about Carolyn. She's so hurt. She feels I've been lying to her all these years. I didn't have a chance to explain." Roger offers to go after Carolyn, but then Vicky answers "Maybe I can. I know she'll listen to me." At that moment, Harrison enters the room. "No one else knows yet?" Vicky asks. Curious, Harrison asks "Knows what?" with a smile.
Liz tells Harrison that she's just discovered "wonderful news" about Vicky. Harrison answers "Oh? And what would that be?" Liz smiles and proudly answers "Vicky is my daughter. The daughter I lost years ago when my father would not allow me to marry the man I wanted." She takes Alan by the hand and finishes "This man, in fact." Harrison is agog at this for a moment, and Vicky says "Well Harrison, I guess that means we're related. " Harrison answers "Yes, I suppose it does." Vicky goes on, in near disbelief herself "I suddenly have a host of new relatives. An Uncle Roger, a sister Carolyn. A cousin David and a cousin Quentin..." and Harrison finishes "And a cousin Barnabas...." Vicky says "Yes. All the people I've always loved....and now I really have a family." Vicky is a little overwhelmed and starts to tear up. Liz hugs her again, followed by Roger, and Liz tells Harrison to pour her a drink. As he turns to pour the drink, we see that he looks like his world is coming apart. Meanwhile at the Blue Whale, Carolyn is also having a drink poured, and from her groggy movement, it must be one of many. She complains to the bartender about "not knowing the people you think you know" while he tries to get her to stop drinking. Sebastian enters the bar, and sits next to Carolyn. "I saw you heading down here," he says. "We had a class tonight, or did you forget?" Carolyn says she didn't forget, that "I never forget anything. But other people can forget anything. Anything they want." Sebastian takes the drink out of her hand and tells her she's drunk. He demands to know why, and she has no answer.
Back at the house, Vicky has composed herself, and says she'd better go find Carolyn since she was so upset. She walks to the foyer to get her coat, and Harrison follows. Harrison offers to help her, but Vicky answers "Thank you, but I really need to do this myself." Harrison asks her how she will know where Carolyn has gone to, and Vicky answers "I'm pretty sure I know where to find her. She always goes to the Blue Whale when she's upset." Harrison laughs a little and says "The Blue Whale, certainly a mainstay of Collinsport, isn't it?" Vicky says she supposes so, and Harrison once again offers to help her "especially if Carolyn is in no condition to get home on her own." Vicky says she'll be fine and leaves. Harrison closes the door thinking "Well, once again your luck has turned against you.... the long lost love of Barnabas Collins turns out to be his long lost relative....there must be another way.....there must be...." As Harrison thinks, we pan over to the portrait of Barnabas.

Vicky thanks him, and then wonders "I remember searching for my identity and finding something about someone named Betty Hanscombe, someone who was a servant here..." Alan says he remembers her, but "she wasn't at Collinwood for very long." Liz says "My father needed an explanation for the baby he brought to the foundling home, something to tell the Garmans in any case. He paid Betty to tell the Garmans that you were her baby so that the fund could be set up. I didn't discover this until years later, once the Garmans were working for me and not my father. I instructed them to protect both mine and Betty Hanscombe's privacy in this matter. But none of that is important now, now that you know the truth." Vicky asks who else knows "other than Carolyn." Liz says "I feel terrible about Carolyn. She's so hurt. She feels I've been lying to her all these years. I didn't have a chance to explain." Roger offers to go after Carolyn, but then Vicky answers "Maybe I can. I know she'll listen to me." At that moment, Harrison enters the room. "No one else knows yet?" Vicky asks. Curious, Harrison asks "Knows what?" with a smile.
Liz tells Harrison that she's just discovered "wonderful news" about Vicky. Harrison answers "Oh? And what would that be?" Liz smiles and proudly answers "Vicky is my daughter. The daughter I lost years ago when my father would not allow me to marry the man I wanted." She takes Alan by the hand and finishes "This man, in fact." Harrison is agog at this for a moment, and Vicky says "Well Harrison, I guess that means we're related. " Harrison answers "Yes, I suppose it does." Vicky goes on, in near disbelief herself "I suddenly have a host of new relatives. An Uncle Roger, a sister Carolyn. A cousin David and a cousin Quentin..." and Harrison finishes "And a cousin Barnabas...." Vicky says "Yes. All the people I've always loved....and now I really have a family." Vicky is a little overwhelmed and starts to tear up. Liz hugs her again, followed by Roger, and Liz tells Harrison to pour her a drink. As he turns to pour the drink, we see that he looks like his world is coming apart. Meanwhile at the Blue Whale, Carolyn is also having a drink poured, and from her groggy movement, it must be one of many. She complains to the bartender about "not knowing the people you think you know" while he tries to get her to stop drinking. Sebastian enters the bar, and sits next to Carolyn. "I saw you heading down here," he says. "We had a class tonight, or did you forget?" Carolyn says she didn't forget, that "I never forget anything. But other people can forget anything. Anything they want." Sebastian takes the drink out of her hand and tells her she's drunk. He demands to know why, and she has no answer.
Back at the house, Vicky has composed herself, and says she'd better go find Carolyn since she was so upset. She walks to the foyer to get her coat, and Harrison follows. Harrison offers to help her, but Vicky answers "Thank you, but I really need to do this myself." Harrison asks her how she will know where Carolyn has gone to, and Vicky answers "I'm pretty sure I know where to find her. She always goes to the Blue Whale when she's upset." Harrison laughs a little and says "The Blue Whale, certainly a mainstay of Collinsport, isn't it?" Vicky says she supposes so, and Harrison once again offers to help her "especially if Carolyn is in no condition to get home on her own." Vicky says she'll be fine and leaves. Harrison closes the door thinking "Well, once again your luck has turned against you.... the long lost love of Barnabas Collins turns out to be his long lost relative....there must be another way.....there must be...." As Harrison thinks, we pan over to the portrait of Barnabas.

After a replay of Thursday's close, as Julia continues to eavesdrop from outside, Nicholas tells Angelique that he will only restore a portion of her powers until "her information is proven valuable." He tells her that only "a portion" of her former power will be restored, and Angelique answers "Restore my immortality and nothing else for now, then." Nicholas laughs, telling her "No, no, my dear. I will not do that for the simple reason that it's what you want the most. For the time being, I think.... you may have some powers to see beyond mere reality, and that is all..." Angelique begins to protest, but Nicholas tells her that "the rest will be yours if I am satisfied." Angelique sighs, and tells Nicholas that he should "be more interested in Harrison Collins than in Barnabas." Nicholas asks "Oh? And why is that?" Angelique answers "Because it was he who brought Victoria Winters back here somehow. His powers seem centered in his ring. That is all I know." Julia overhears this and thinks to herself "I must tell Barnabas of this....but he may not believe me. He....loves....Angelique too much now, it's blinded him to what she is capable of....I must do something..." Julia walks to the door and pushes it open. Nicholas hears the door and steps out of frame as Angelique goes to see who it is. "Julia! This is a surprise," Angelique says as Julia passes her and walks into the living room. Nicholas is gone. Julia angrily says "Where is he? Did he simply vanish, using his powers?" Angelique plays innocent and asks "Who?" Julia glares at her and answers "Nicholas Blair. I was outside and heard the whole thing. You two are plotting something against Barnabas!" Angelique is agape.
Barnabas returns to the old house as Julia continues to grill Angelique. Angelique sees Barnabas and runs to him, complaining that "Julia's jealousy has driven her to make incredible accusations." Julia tells Barnabas "She's lying. Nicholas Blair was here tonight, offering Angelique her powers back in return for information on Harrison for some reason." Barnabas faces Angelique and says "I warned Blair not to interfere with us. Why did you invite him in?" Angelique says "He doesn't need to be invited." Julia says "See? I told you I was telling the truth." Angelique turns away from Barnabas, but he turns her to face him. "You cannot go back to what you were, I will not have it!" Angelique answers "I'm afraid, Barnabas....I'm afraid of getting....old. I don't want to lose you, not to Victoria Winters..." and then, while glaring at Julia, adds "Not to anyone!" Barnabas answers "So, once again, Blair has preyed upon your fears and appealed to vanity." Angelique answers "Barnabas, there's no way to fight a man like Nicholas with the power he has." Barnabas says "There must be a way!" Angelique gets a sly look in her eye and answers "Perhaps there is, Barnabas, and that's why I've been dealing with him. We must fight fire with fire. The only way to fight Nicholas' power is if I have my powers back." Barnabas, shocked, says "That's out of the question! You know what having that power does to your soul! It will corrupt and twist you, you will be as evil as you once were!" Angelique takes Barnabas' hands and shyly answers "Not if you love me." Barnabas says "There must be another way. There has to be!" Julia pipes in and says that Nicholas has already restored "some kind of power in Angelique" in exchange for the information about Harrison. Barnabas wonders why Nicholas is so interested in Harrison. Julia says that Nicholas must want to know how Harrison brought Vicky back from the eighteenth century. "Why would a man with Nicholas' power care about such things?" Barnabas asks. Julia answers "We may need to find out the answer to that." Barnabas slowly turns to face Angelique and says "If you've gotten some sort of power back from Nicholas, do you think you could use it to find out what his plans are? What I must know is if I can trust you." Angelique hugs Barnabas tightly and says "Of course you can, my love." Barnabas embraces her as Julia turns away, angry.
The next morning at Collinwood, Carolyn and Roger are having coffee in the drawing room as Roger reads the newspaper. Carolyn remarks to Roger how happy she is that Vicky is back, though with Daphne as governess when David returns, she wonders what kind of jobs would be available for Vicky. Roger supposes that he could check in town once he goes "down to the cannery." Carolyn remarks "Well, unless anyone has more children around here, there won't be much demand for more governesses." Roger chuckles at this, and asks Carolyn if she's trying to tell him something about her "future plans." Carolyn answers that she finds Sebastian "interesting" but doesn't "think of him as husband material." Liz and Alan enter the drawing room, and Liz says that she's glad everyone is there. Roger asks why, and Alan closes the doors. Liz says "I have something very important to tell you all." Carolyn gets wide eyed, wondering aloud if the announcement has to do with Liz & Alan, but Liz answers "In a way it does, but I'm sure not in the way that you're thinking, Carolyn." Carolyn asks why, and Liz answers "It's time I told you something about myself. About myself and Vicky Winters. I told Alan the story some time ago, and now I have the courage after all these years to tell you. Especially you, Carolyn. I think you need to know most of all." Carolyn wonders what Liz is talking about, and a shot of Roger suggests he has a hint of what's coming.
Back from commercial, Liz has finished telling the story. Roger insists that Liz "must have proof" before she accepts Vicky as her daughter, but Alan answers "I have the proof, Roger. I took a sample of Vicky's blood and ran some tests. Vicky has no idea what the tests were about yet, but they prove fairly conclusively that Liz and I are her parents." Carolyn is in shock and says nothing. Liz asks Carolyn how she feels, and Carolyn starts to tear up a bit. "I....I don't know what to feel, mother. I don't know how to feel." Roger asks Carolyn if she's all right, and Carolyn angrily says "No! No, I'm not! Mother, how could you hide that for so long? From me, how could you hide that from me! When you brought Vicky here, you knew! You knew the whole time!" Liz tells Carolyn she wasn't sure "and there was a part of me that didn't want to know the truth." Carolyn begins to cry and get hysterical. Roger tells her to calm down, and then snaps at Liz and Alan for telling her, "bringing back all these ghosts of the past." Liz answers that "Vicky is not a ghost! She is my daughter and she will be living here now, as a Collins!" Carolyn shouts "How could you keep this from me all those years? All that time when Vicky was searching for her identity.... all to protect the family name! How could you?" Liz takes Carolyn by the shoulders and asks her to "please understand" and that "We all grew to love Vicky and think of her as part of the family anyway, despite my secret. You may have already thought of her like a sister." Carolyn angrily pulls away and yells "You had no right to manipulate us like that! I don't know what the truth is anymore!" She starts to run out of the room, but after she gets the doors open, Alan tries to stop her. "Please, Carolyn.... give your mother a chance..." Carolyn answers "I gave her plenty....every day I've been living here. And every day she kept this from me!" Carolyn angrily runs past Alan into the foyer just as Vicky is coming down the stairs. Vicky asks Carolyn what's wrong, and Carolyn looks at her for a moment, then back at the group in the drawing room before hysterically crying and running out the front door. Liz shouts for Carolyn to come back. Vicky gets down the stairs and asks what is going on. Liz, Roger, and Alan look at each other and wonder how to tell her.

After a repeat of Wednesday's close and the titles, Nicholas is still taunting Angelique about Barnabas and Vicky. "Barnabas seems to still be very fond of Miss Winters, indeed. Perhaps she has rekindled his romantic memories of her..." Angelique tells Nicholas to stop it, and then follows this with an angry "What do you want of me?" Nicholas answers "I want you. I want to take you back into our way. The master wants you back." Angelique says she finds that hard to believe, but Nicholas says that it's true and that "the master has grandiose plans for you, once you have accepted your powers." Angelique says she has no interest in "the master's plans" since "I am now the master of my own fate." Nicholas tells her that she forgets how being mortal will age her and eventually "destroy you through the mundane death all mortals must face." Angelique starts to shudder at this concept, and Nicholas continues "Not a pleasant thought, is it, my dear? Now listen to me. I'll see to it that you are restored to the good graces of our master if you find out just exactly how Victoria Winters was restored to this time. Did Barnabas do it? After all, he brought you back here...." Angelique snaps "No! Barnabas had nothing to do with it!" Nicholas says "An answer! Finally! Well, if you are so sure Barnabas didn't do it, perhaps you know who did." Angelique thinks about this.
At Collinwood, Harrison, Barnabas & Vicky arrive. Vicky thanks them both for seeing her home, and Barnabas gruffly says to Harrison "Now that we have returned, I wish to have a moment alone with Vicky." Harrison smiles and says he would never want to intrude, and heads upstairs. Barnabas tells Vicky "I wanted to make sure we were alone before we talked." Vicky says she thinks she knows why, "considering the way I acted back at the old house. I know what you're going to say to me, Barnabas." Barnabas, surprised, says "You do?" Vicky continues "You're going to tell me how I must be mad to think what I do about Angelique. But I know exactly what I'm talking about, Barnabas!" Barnabas answers "I don't think you are mad, Vicky. It's just that what I need to tell you takes a while to explain. I only want to assure you that you have nothing to fear from Angelique, nor do I, nor do any of us." Vicky interrupts "How can you be sure? You don't know her like I do, Barnabas, if I'm right...." Barnabas tells her "I know her very very well, Vicky. Better than you can imagine. And I know she would not hurt any member of the Collins family now." Vicky repeats "Now?" just as Liz and Alan come out of the drawing room. Barnabas says hello to them, and asks Liz how she is feeling. Liz says she is fine, walking to Vicky and taking her hand, adds "I don't think I've ever felt better." Vicky smiles at Liz, wondering what she meant.
Alan asks Vicky why she ran out so suddenly when he was ready to give her the blood test "to see if she is okay after her shock." After a look at Barnabas, Vicky says she "forgot to tell Barnabas something, and with no phone in the old house thought I'd run over there a minute. I'm sorry." Barnabas is impressed with Vicky's quick story, and tells her that they can "talk more later." Vicky looks at Barnabas seriously and says "I definitely want to do that." Barnabas says he needs to get home since he's expecting Julia, bids everyone a goodnight, and Alan tells Vicky he'll get everything ready in the drawing room. Liz keeps smiling at Vicky, and Vicky asks Liz why she wasn't feeling well earlier. Liz answers "It was just an anxiety attack of sorts. Some painful memories returning." Vicky says she's sorry to hear that as they all go back into the drawing room. Vicky asks Liz if it's anything she can help with, and Liz smiles and says "We can talk about it tomorrow." Alan has Vicky roll up her sleeve and starts to draw the blood as Liz watches, knowing what she wants the result to be.
At the old house, Angelique tells Nicholas that "if I give you the information you want, I must have something more than must my powers back." Nicholas tells her that she's in no position to bargain, and that "if you anger me, I can always bring Jeremiah back to remind you." Angelique says that she understands that, and that the "something more" would not be something to "upset the master anyway." Nicholas is intrigued and asks to know more. At that moment, Julia is starting up the steps outside the house, but stops when she hears the voices inside. "Nicholas!" she thinks to herself as she moves carefully towards the window to listen in. Julia overhears Angelique tell Nicholas "If I get my powers back, part of the bargain is that I am not subservient to you, Nicholas. And once you learn what you want to know, you will leave Collinsport!" Nicholas isn't thrilled with this, but Angelique adds "With my powers restored and what that will mean for me and the family, there will be no need of you here anyway." Nicholas answers "You are still very clever, my dear. Perhaps too clever." Angelique adds "We both know the master will prefer it that way Nicholas, after your failures in the past. That is my offer. And yes, Nicholas, I do know what you want to know." Nicholas smiles and says "Well then.... you have made your offer. I may well be prepared to accept it" as we cut back to Julia outside. We hear Julia think "Barnabas was right! Nicholas is trying to restore Angelique's powers again....but why? Because those powers will make her as evil as she once was! Evil enough to......destroy Barnabas! That's what Sarah must have meant!" Julia is afraid of this conclusion.

Nicholas tells her that she's in no position to bargain, and that "if you anger me, I can always bring Jeremiah back to remind you." Angelique says that she understands that, and that the "something more" would not be something to "upset the master anyway." Nicholas is intrigued and asks to know more. At that moment, Julia is starting up the steps outside the house, but stops when she hears the voices inside. "Nicholas!" she thinks to herself as she moves carefully towards the window to listen in. Julia overhears Angelique tell Nicholas "If I get my powers back, part of the bargain is that I am not subservient to you, Nicholas. And once you learn what you want to know, you will leave Collinsport!" Nicholas isn't thrilled with this, but Angelique adds "With my powers restored and what that will mean for me and the family, there will be no need of you here anyway." Nicholas answers "You are still very clever, my dear. Perhaps too clever." Angelique adds "We both know the master will prefer it that way Nicholas, after your failures in the past. That is my offer. And yes, Nicholas, I do know what you want to know." Nicholas smiles and says "Well then.... you have made your offer. I may well be prepared to accept it" as we cut back to Julia outside. We hear Julia think "Barnabas was right! Nicholas is trying to restore Angelique's powers again....but why? Because those powers will make her as evil as she once was! Evil enough to......destroy Barnabas! That's what Sarah must have meant!" Julia is afraid of this conclusion.
