Lara Parker's voiceover: "It is a night of terror for those at the old house on the Collins estate. For an uncontrollable blood lust has once again taken over the soul of Barnabas Collins. He will not be able to prevent himself from attacking the friend he can trust most of all, but on this night, a spirit from the past will beckon him to another time and place..."
"I must have blood...." Barnabas says, eyeing Julia. She backs away, begging Barnabas to control himself. "I MUST!" he yells, knocking some furniture out of the way. "There's no other way, Julia..." he says. "I must have blood or will myself to the past..." Julia yells at him "No, Barnabas! If you go back and change history, everyone living now may cease to exist!" Barnabas angrily says "I don't care! I must stop this craving! I must find my own happiness!" Julia cowers as Barnabas approaches her adding "...starting with your blood, Julia...." Julia cries "No, Barnabas, don't..." As Barnabas gets closer, a glowing light appears between him and Julia. It gets brighter, blocking his way. Angelique appears in the light, and Julia sees her. She looks at Barnabas and puts her hand up to stop him from moving towards Julia. He yells "I must have blood! No.... help me! Help me Angelique! The point of return! Take me to the point of return!" Julia yells "No, Barnabas, don't do it!" But Angelique's ghost smiles and moves towards Barnabas with her arms stretched out. Barnabas starts to calm down as the ghost embraces him, saying simply "The point of return....the point of return..." until he and Angelique's ghost both vanish together! Julia sees this and yells "Barnabas! Barnabas!"
After the titles, Barnabas is sitting unconscious in a hallway at Collinwood. He is dressed in his 1840 clothes. He starts to stir and awaken when he hears voices off to the side. When he opens his eyes, he sees that he is sitting outside the parallel time room in the east wing, and inside the room are Catherine and Bramwell arguing. Barnabas looks at his clothes and then at Catherine and Bramwell just as Bramwell is pleading his love to her. We hear Barnabas think "I'm back...back in 1840...I have seen those people....my son in that other world....striving for the woman he loves.... I saw it right before...." Suddenly his eyes open wide, and he says out loud "Oh my God! If only I am not too late!" as he runs from the hallway. We cut to him running down the foyer stairs in a hurry to the drawing room, where Angelique is sitting by the fire. He is relieved to see her, and says "Angelique! I am not too late this time!" She looks at him confused, and asks "Too late for what?" just as Lamar Trask enters behind Barnabas with the gun. He starts to point it with an angry "Die, witch!" but Barnabas grabs his arm and moves it off to the side. Angelique stands up and tries to step out of the way as Barnabas and Lamar struggle and the gun goes off. Angelique screams, and Barnabas calls out to her "Angelique!"
Barnabas has wrenched the gun from Lamar's hand as he turns to look at Angelique. She tells him she is unharmed, she was only scared by the gunshot. Lamar angrily yells at Barnabas "She is a witch! She must be destroyed!" Barnabas grabs Lamar by the collar and yells "She is not a witch, you fanatical idiot! She is..... my wife!" and then socks Lamar hard to the jaw knocking him out. Angelique is rather shocked by all of this, until Barnabas moves to her with a smile and says "Yes, I know now. I am no longer afraid or too proud to admit that.... it's always been you." With a big smile, Angelique wraps her arms around him and they make lovey-dovey for a bit until Angelique says "You saved me, Barnabas," and Barnabas (with apologies to Anakin Skywalker) answers "No, you saved me" before kissing her again. He turns to look at Trask and says "A twisted evil man. This time we should turn him over to the authorities." "This time?" Angelique asks, confused. Barnabas looks at her and says "Yes, this time. You don't remember summoning me back here?" Angelique doesn't know what he's talking about, and then he smiles and says "I'll explain it all to you, don't worry," kissing her hand. But while he's gushing over Angelique, Lamar begins to wake up, and eyes the gun in Barnabas' free hand with a leer.
Lamar wakes up and goes for the gun, but Barnabas steps out of the way. Barnabas tries to fire it at Trask, but it is empty. Trask runs upstairs vowing he'll have his revenge. Barnabas hands Angelique the empty gun and tells her he must stop Trask before he hurts anyone else. Barnabas follows him upstairs, and we hear him think "You have no advantage over me this time, Trask. I know exactly where you're heading because I've done this before...." We cut to Trask sneaking through the east wing brandishing a knife and looking for a good place to hide. He hears Barnabas coming, and moves out of sight. Barnabas moves carefully down the hall, but then suddenly turns and grabs Lamar's arm with the knife just as Lamar lunges at him. "How... how could you see me so quickly?" Trask asks nervously. Barnabas looks at him with an angry smile and says "It must be witchcraft at work, Trask!" Trask seems genuinely scared as he struggles with Barnabas, until Barnabas looks at him and declares "You will never harm me or anyone I love again!" Barnabas then forces Lamar to stab himself with the knife, and as Trask uses his last ounce of energy to get away from Barnabas, he falls into the parallel time room, which is dark and empty. Barnabas looks at Trask saying simply "Take him from us!" Suddenly, the room comes to life with Trask laying on the floor slowly dying. Some voices are heard in the distance, but suddenly the room switches back to an empty dark room, and Trask is gone. Barnabas smiles.
In the drawing room, Barnabas has explained to Angelique everything that had happened originally and how it had just been changed. He is adjusting his clothes in the mirror as Angelique says "You think my spirit brought you back here to save you from the curse again." Barnabas looks at her and says "To save me from many things. The curse of loneliness, the curse of living with an opportunity for happiness forever lost." He walks her to the window and says "Julia and Stokes won't return until the morning. Why don't we wait for them and watch the sun rise together?" Angelique laughs and says "It's been a long time since we did that." Barnabas tells her (with apologies to James Bond) "Now we have all the time in the world." They start kissing again, and don't hear Julia enter through the front door. When Julia sees them passionately embracing, she turns away, unable to look, with a tear running from her eye.
