After a replay of Monday's close and the titles, Barnabas yells at Carolyn to "keep back" as Jeremiah turns to face Carolyn. Carolyn takes a step back, but then grabs the chain of her necklace and pulls out a silver ankh pendant and shines it at Jeremiah's ghost. Carolyn says "Return....return to whence you came....I hold the symbol of life....return....return..." and Jeremiah vanishes as the lights come on. Barnabas asks Angelique if she is all right, and then asks Carolyn "what did you do?" Carolyn takes a deep breath and says she can't believe it herself, since she only thought it was something out of the books Professor Stokes had given her. "My necklace has the ankh...." she begins, and Angelique finishes "...the ancient Egyptian symbol of life." Carolyn says "Yes, you're familiar with it?" Angelique says "A little." Carolyn explains how her books said that the spirits of the dead can often be repelled with symbols of life, "but I never thought it would really work. But it was the first thing I thought of!" Barnabas says that "No matter what, you did the right thing," and thanks her. Carolyn wonders why there would be a ghost haunting Collinwood. "Have you ever seen that ghost before?" she asks Barnabas and Angelique, and they both lie that they have not, and have "no idea" who it may have been. Carolyn says that she "must find out, in case it comes back." Barnabas and Angelique excuse themselves, and say goodnight as they head back to the old house. Carolyn thinks a moment, and then walks to the phone and calls Sebastian.
The next day, David is all packed and Roger is going to drive him to the train station. Roger asks him if he is going to miss Collinwood, and David says he will, but that "maybe it's time I spent a while away from here. Quentin has been a lot of places, and Harrison was telling me about how good it can be to travel around." Carolyn comes into David's room to say goodbye, and David says he will write "lots of letters home to everyone from school." Carolyn says she's sure that David will have a good time at school and will enjoy seeing Hallie Stokes again. The three leave the room, and as they come down the stairs to the foyer, Alan and Liz are waiting there to say their goodbyes. Alan shakes David's hand and wishes him luck, and Liz gives him a hug, saying she can't believe he looks "so grown up." Carolyn suddenly remembers something in her purse, and says "I almost forgot. I picked up your photographs in town earlier this morning." She hands him the envelope. Carolyn asks David if those were the pictures he claims he took of Sarah. David says yes, and then starts to look through them. He smiles and even laughs a little as he looks through them, only saying "It figures." He hands the pictures back to Carolyn, and she looks through them saying "I only see some pictures of the woods here." David says to Carolyn "It's okay. I know what I saw. And now I'm going." David smiles and says goodbye, and he and Roger leave. Liz wonders what Collinwood will be like with David gone, and how there are "no longer any children here. I don't know if I'll get used to that." Alan remarks on how much quieter the place will be, and how he's not sure if he likes that either. Carolyn remarks that Collinwood may not be as quiet a place as they may think. Liz wonders what she means, but then there is a knock at the door, and it's Sebastian. Carolyn leads him into the drawing room and closes the doors.
Carolyn tells Sebastian about her experience with "some angry spirit" and how she drove it away with her ankh necklace. Sebastian asks her if she knows who the spirit was, and Carolyn says she has no idea, but for some reason the spirit seemed angry at Barnabas, but that Barnabas didn't know who it was either. Sebastian thinks about that a moment, and then comments that "perhaps Barnabas has angered spirits in his experiences." Carolyn suggests that they hold a seance and try to contact the spirit and find out why it was so angry. Sebastian mentions that contacting an angry spirit is not always a good idea. Liz and Alan enter the room just in time to hear Sebastian discussing "angry spirits." Liz asks Carolyn what is going on, and Carolyn tells her that she had seen "something" the night before when Barnabas and Angelique were here. Alan remarks how he thought "all the talk of ghosts at Collinwood would have left with David." Carolyn says that she knows what she saw, and wants to contact it. Carolyn suggests that the four of them hold a seance.
Liz resists the idea, but Alan suggests that they hold the seance "so that we can prove that all this talk about ghosts and hauntings is pure nonsense." Carolyn remarks that Alan sounds like Roger. Alan laughs a little at this, and asks how you hold a seance. Sebastian explains as he sets up the table and chairs. As the four sit and join hands, Sebastian leads by trying to contact the "angry spirit who haunts this house" (which I guess means several dozen spirits could show up and take numbers). Alan is skeptical, Liz is nervous, and Carolyn is looking around for any signs as Sebastian continues. Sebastian keeps calling for a "spirit" with no luck, and Carolyn tells him to see if it's a Collins. He nods, and calls to "an angry Collins spirit" and the lights start to flicker. Liz says "What's that?" as Alan tells her to calm down. Sebastian keeps calling to "Collins" and says "Collins spirit, show yourself!" as the lights flicker and a ghostly wind blows through the room. Liz remarks on how "ice cold" it's suddenly gotten in the room, and then they hear the sound of the front doors opening. Carolyn says "He's here!" as Sebastian keeps calling for the "Collins spirit" to "come forth." Suddenly, the drawing room doors swing open, but it's Roger. In his most snide tone, he bellows "What the devil is going on here?" Carolyn tells him not to disturb the circle, a gust of wind seems to blow Roger backwards. "What kind of nonsense is this?" he scoffs, but above him the foyer chandelier is swaying and tinkling. We start to hear Jeremiah's laughter echoing through the foyer as Alan looks towards Roger. Alan suddenly jumps up from the seance and runs towards Roger yelling "Roger! Look out!" Roger looks up, and sees the chandelier snap from it's chain and begin to fall towards him....
