After a replay of Tuesday's close and the titles, Pansy holds onto Harrison and tells Petofi to keep away from her. "Such a gallant lad, I see," Petofi says. "But I did not bring Miss Trask here to harm her, far from it. I only brought her to convince you not to be so stubborn." Harrison wonders what he means until he takes Pansy's hand and places in on Harrison's. "Tell us what you see of his other world, Pansy Faye..." Petofi says. "Tell us all of your vision of that world...tell us why this man, Harrison Collins, is so needed there...." Pansy refuses, but then Petofi raises THE HAND and threatens her with it. Harrison tells her it's all right, and that she can tell him what is happening "in my world." She closes her eyes and starts to describe the woods, and then says "I see an old farmhouse...it's been abandoned but it's being used...." The image of Valery laying unconscious on the bed inside the farmhouse appears as Pansy continues. "I see someone....it's Angelique! But it's not Angelique....not in this world...." Harrison says "Valery...her name is Valery..." Pansy continues "She's in danger! She's not moving! She's trapped in that farmhouse....she's a prisoner there!" Harrison starts to become very interested now, and shouts "A prisoner? Where is this farmhouse? Tell me! Tell me!" Pansy comes out of the trance, and says "I can't see anything else! It's gone now!" Harrison, angry, walks away in frustration. "It seems you are needed back in your world, Mr. Harrison," Petofi says. "At least now I understand your haste to leave this one. A lady in distress...a lady in distress whom you care for very much....this seems to be your weakness." Harrison looks at Petofi and says "You don't understand! You cannot enter that other world without causing a disruption to the timeflow!" Petofi says "What sort of disruption? You've entered into this world without any catastrophe taking place." Harrison insists that Petofi belongs "here," but must stop short before revealing any more. "I cannot tell him my true origins, " Harrison thinks. "But I also cannot permit my own world to be altered by changing Petofi's actions in 1897....the entire Collins family might be affected." Petofi says he "must escape this world" and that "while I intended no harm to come to Miss Trask, I may have to alter that part of my plan. Or perhaps, we might threaten some of the others at Collinwood, since our guest seems to be so concerned for them. Charles, go see who else is at Collinwood, and...shall we say, invite them over here. I can handle these two myself." Tate leaves as Petofi raises THE HAND....
Near Collinwood, Aristede is trying to sneak in the front door, thinking "I'll find that room if it's the last thing I do" when Quentin finds him. He yanks Aristede away and says "Look at you, your clothes in tatters. What do you think you're doing trying to break in here?" Aristede tries to get by again, saying he "must," and adds "I ought to kill you for what you've done to me! Petofi has sent someone to kill me because of you!" Quentin laughs and says "Well, hooray for Count Petofi!" Aristede lunges at Quentin and the two begin to fight, falling away from the house. As they struggle near the edge of the woods, we hear the rattling chains of Blackwood approaching. Aristede gets frightened while Quentin wonders what the noise is. Blackwood appears, and demands "justice for the criminal." He accuses Quentin of "aiding the fugitive," but Quentin says "I'm not aiding him at all. Here, take him!" Quentin shoves Aristede right at Blackwood, who catches him by the throat with his chain. Aristede gasps "Quentin! No....no....." Quentin watches for a moment as Blackwood strangles Aristede to death, but then runs back into the house. Blackwood walks off leaving Aristede dead, and Tate comes out of the woods to find his body.
Meanwhile in PT, Valery wakes up in the farmhouse, but has no idea where she is or how she got there. She was holding the gun in her hand and when she sees this, she drops it on the bed. She sees that the bed is bloody where she was laying. She gets scared and backs away from the bloody bed and reaches the door. She cannot get out and it is still locked. "I can't remember what I am doing here....I can't remember anything....why does my head hurt so much?" we hear her think. "Who am I?" she thinks. "Why can't I remember? It's like a dream, a terrible dream that won't end...." She stumbles around the place wondering why she is there when she finds another note, this one in an envelope on a small table. She opens it and begins to read, growing more and more horrified. She says out loud "A suicide note....signed Valery Stokes Trask....why does that name sound so familiar? My head....my head is pounding in pain...." She turns and sees a dusty mirror on the wall. She wipes away the dust, and sees her own reflection - there is blood all over the side of her head! She gasps, and in her delirium says "Me! I am Valery Stokes Trask! It was my note! I wrote the suicide note!" She touches her hand to the blood and looks at it on her fingers, saying "And I must be dead now!" She begins to scream. Outside the farmhouse, Trask, with a pail of what looks like blood and a soaked towel, is listening and laughing. Trask laughing becomes part of a smaller image surrounded by another, as we pull back to see that we have been watching another of Pansy's visions. Harrison is beside himself with anger, talking about how he will "kill that man when I get back there." Petofi says "You don't understand, my boy, I can help you if I accompany you back. I can help you get your revenge against that Mr. Trask." Harrison seems to be thinking this over when Tate arrives, out of breath. Petofi asks him why he didn't bring anyone else back with him, and he answers "Aristede is dead! I watched Blackwood strangle him!" Petofi smiles, and Harrison thinks.
Petofi remarks on how he hopes "Aristede died painfully." Tate is concerned that Blackwood is still out there, and wonders why he wasn't destroyed when Aristede died. Petofi says he's not concerned about that. We hear Harrison think "Blackwood! The ghost Petofi conjured up...now I remember! On the same night he killed Aristede, he returned here to Tate's studio and destroyed it, with Petofi inside! That means he's heading back here now....I must get out of here!" Petofi is elated over Aristede's death, and steps to the other end of the room, talking about how "perhaps I will need a new protegŽ now...." As he looks towards Harrison, Harrison motions to Charity to pick up a nearby vase. She gets it quickly, grabs the vase and clocks Tate with it. He goes down, and Harrison makes a break for the open door. Charity starts to follow, but Petofi catches up with her and grabs her arm. "Let go o' me, you bloody swine!" she says, batting at him. He angrily raises THE HAND and says "Calm yourself, Miss Trask," as he touches her with it, knocking her out. "Fortunately, I know exactly where our young friend is going." Back at Collinwood, Harrison comes through the front door in a rush, and we hear him think "I haven't much time," as he heads through the door to under the stairs. As he closes it behind him, Quentin comes out of the drawing room wondering what the noise was. "Judith? Is that you?" he says. When he sees nothing, he walks out the front door and closes it behind him. We pan to the clock, dissolve to about ten minutes going by, and then we see Harrison come out of the door. He's got a piece of the crystal in his hand, and we hear him thinking "This should be enough of it to tap into the timeflow in that room....as long as some of it is left behind for the world of 1971...." He puts it in his pocket and turns up the stairs just as the front door opens. Petofi and Charity enter, with Petofi holding her by the throat with THE HAND. "I see I'm not too late, Mr. Harrison," Petofi says. "Now if you value this young girl's life as much as the one you are rushing back to, you'll show me exactly which room upstairs you're heading for." Harrison freezes.
