Episode 1252

Aired Tuesday April 13, 1971

Sebastian enters the old house and finds Barnabas waiting. Barnabas asks him what he found out from Stokes, and Sebastian tells him that Stokes was out of town. Barnabas is disappointed, but Sebastian tells him that he had talked to Professor Anderson, and found out that he "is an expert on vampires." Barnabas doesn't know whether to be happy or worried.

Barnabas asks Sebastian how much Anderson knows about such things, and Sebastian seems pretty confident in Anderson's knowledge. "Do you think we can trust him?" Barnabas asks. "I don't see why not," answers Sebastian. Julia enters and says hello to Sebastian, and Barnabas tells her about Anderson. Julia would rather wait for Stokes to return, but Barnabas, impatient as always when a woman is involved, tells Sebastian that Anderson may well prove to be useful after all.

At Collinwood, Barnabas has telephoned Anderson and has arranged for him to come to the old house to hear more about 'something that will interest you. I'd rather not discuss it over the phone, if you don't mind." Barnabas thanks him and hangs up. Sebastian asks Barnabas how he can live in a house without a telephone, and Barnabas tells him of the accurate restoration of the old house, and how "Perhaps using the phone here gives me an excuse to visit the family." Barnabas mentions that Anderson will no doubt want to know as much about Roxanne as he can, and Sebastian mentions that all of her things are still in the old psychic shop they used together. "I haven't been back there in a long time," he says. Barnabas insists that he go there and gather whatever he can before meeting them back at the old house.

Sebastian returns to the psychic shop and finds his way through the dusty interior. He searches through some papers and desk drawers and finds nothing of interest. He moves to a back room. It's Roxanne's room, and it is windowless. He switches on a light, and starts to look through her closet. Behind some old clothes, he finds a large trunk. He pulls it out of the closet, and begins to work on the lock.

Sebastian has gotten a crowbar and is prying the lock open. It flies open, and he opens the trunk. There are some older clothes inside, but also a box tied with some string. He rips the string off and starts to look through the papers in the box, reading some, and throwing others aside. He stops on one handwritten sheet and reads aloud "October 6, 19....10!" and takes a deep breath before continuing. He finds an album underneath the box and begins to leaf through it. Suddenly, he stops on one page. His eyes open wide at what he sees and he gasps in horror.....
