Dark Shadows: Resurrection: Afterword 1

First of all, thank you for reading my story and taking the time to follow it as it evolves from week to week. If you're reading this, I'll assume you've read the first story arc (Episodes 1246-1292, roughly) and are interested in where it will be heading next. Stay tuned!

I always liked Petofi as a villain from the 1897 storyline, and thought the original series didn't quite know what to do with 1897 Quentin once they got him to 1970. Thayer David played the part wonderfully, but unless kindly Professor Stokes suddenly was possessed by Petofi's spirit somehow (Hmmm...there's an idea....), there had to be some other way of bringing him back to torment Quentin, Barnabas, and anyone else who got in his way. Since I also liked James Storm as a "Quentin enemy" and figured he'd be put in some other role if the show had remained on the air, it seemed a natural. The other issues I was concerned with were coming up with a way of segueing from the 1841PT story back to the "regular" story in a way that made sense, as well as taking care of that nasty time-paradox with vampire Roxanne. (After all, how could she be a vampire in 1970 if Julia wasn't originally there in 1840 to free Barnabas who bites her, etc etc etc.)

For those of you wondering where other beloved (and maybe hated!) characters are ("Hey! Where's Willie???"), just sit tight. A lot of familiar faces will be turning up as you continue, and maybe some new faces as well (after all, who can some of those actors and actresses who popped up in 1840 or 1841PT turn out to be in 1971?) The first story arc was a shorter, more centralized one in terms of plot and action; the second arc, beginning with the link below, will be more like the 1897 plot or the 1968 storyline, with several plotlines running concurrently, eventually intertwining at various intervals. I'm hoping you'll enjoy it, since I have an idea on how to segue it into a pretty neat third one down the road... we shall see!

Oh, and Willie? He's off somewhere getting a beating, probably missing the "special" way Barnabas does it. ;-)

Thanks for websurfing up my side of the street!
